Not much has been revealed about Disney Treasure just yet, but we have seen concept art of the ship’s Grand Hall atrium, which greets guests as they enter the ship. The three-floor atrium, complete with gilded statues of “Aladdin”’s titular character, Jasmine and the Magic Carpet, incorporates Middle Eastern and Asian architectural and artistic elements, for a truly magical vacation-worthy setting. However, while Disney Treasure is new in some ways, you might notice the similarities if you’ve already traveled on Disney Wish in the past.

One thing I love about Disney Cruise Line and Castaway Cay is that there are plenty of adults-only spaces where kids are strictly not allowed. I enjoy seeing the Disney characters on the ship, but love seeing Mickey and his pals even more at Castaway Cay. The ship—which Disney Cruise Line revealed more information about on Tuesday—will set sail December 2024 with all the unique spaces, family entertainment, and world-class dining that Disney Cruise Line is known for. Not to mention, the ship’s theme of adventure will inspire the venues and experiences on board, including all-new stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and Disney Parks tales. This ocean liner-inspired ship debuted almost in tandem with its sister ship, Disney Wonder, but the two have very minute differences, in terms of both size and style. However, on both ships, you’ll find an intimate environment, classic theme-ing, lots of Disney fun and plenty of activities for both kids and adults alike. With today’s installment of the bridge block, the Disney Treasure now has everything it needs to sail through waterways around the world.

For 25 years, each ship in the fleet has been adorned with characters from beloved Disney stories. The Disney Treasure will follow this tradition with its own signature character sculptures that honor the ship’s motif of adventure, Peter Pan and Captain Hook. Harnessing the power of Tinker Bell’s pixie dust, Peter Pan will levitate next to the Disney Treasure to add the finishing touch to the ship’s stern filigree.
Unveiled way back in 1998, it was the very first Disney cruise ship ever built, and its arrival in 1998 marked the beginning of the line. In all, Disney operates just five cruise vessels — far fewer than such cruise brands as Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line. Founded in 1998, the line has gone long periods without adding a single new vessel, with occasional bursts of expansion, including one taking place right now. Disney Wonder will also sail itineraries in the South Pacific — Disney Cruise Lines' first trips to the destination — during its transpacific crossings. Disney Magic, for instance, is the ship that Disney sends to Europe every summer for itineraries that are all about exploring cities such as Barcelona and Rome (reached via the port of Civitavecchia, Italy).

A few weeks ago, Meyer Werft Shipyard was bustling with activity when the Disney Treasure was set afloat for the first time. Water from the Ems River was pumped into the building dock where the ship is being constructed, lifting the hull from the floor of the chamber. The shipyard team was then able to guide the Disney Treasure to a new location, where it will undergo the next phase of construction. Then, think about who’s cruising with you and the amenities they’ll need.

In addition, Disney Cruise Line recently bought a massive, partly finished cruise ship that was originally ordered for Asia-based Dream Cruises. The unfinished ship became available for purchase after Dream Cruises went out of business.
Meanwhile, Peter Pan’s longtime rival, Captain Hook can be seen leaning out a porthole with a vengeful expression on his face.
